Telecom Carriers Make News

Every month NWMAP likes to recognize and spread the word about some of our 40 Telecom carriers who make the news. We also like to keep everyone updated on new products by our carriers and any new announcements that may be of value to our clientele and/or Telecom Agents.

The first tidbit of news is the partnering of Wecom Inc. with Integra Telecom to deliver carrier class service to rural businesses in the SW U.S, including Arizona, an area NWMAP serves and continues to expand services. Integra Telecom has been making significant news all of 2011 regarding their continued expansion of services. We look forward to more in 2012.

Also an announcement from Integra is bringing on a new Communications executive to take charge of it’s growing portfolio. Joe Harding has been appointed Senior vice president of product management and development.

Paetec deployed Visual Messaging App for Smartphones. Some features include voicemail transcription into text for phone users. Basically it gives them enterprise level service right on their phone. Receiving messages on your phone is as easy as receiving instant emails for voice messaging.

In the News: Senate Rejects FCC Net Neutrality Rules

April 8, 2011: U.S. House of Representatives approved a measure to nullify FCC net neutrality rules that were adopted last year. The net neutrality rules, adopted in December 2010, prevent carriers, such as AT&T, Verizon and Comcast, from discriminating against competitors by impeding the transport of content over their broadband networks.

Those  backing the legislation  stated the FCC lacks the authority to impose the net neutrality rules and that the government should stay out of regulating the Internet. Some believe the net rules would stifle innovation, investment and jobs in the private sector.

In 2010, a federal appeals court ruled the FCC did not have the authority to regulate Internet traffic under existing law. The ruling prompted the FCC to try again, finding a different rationale for its authority to regulate Internet traffic management to ensure that content receive equal treatment by carriers.

We partner with carriers who understand our level of committment to customers and building an unmatched reputation for service.

Recently, one of NWMAP’s carriers, XO Communications, rolled out the red carpet for us with their Platinum Partnership Program. This is an exclusive partnership between NWMAP and XO Communications and it means Platinum care and repair for our clients; a whole new experience of excellence. This includes Priority Call Routing, Platinum Partner Repair Technicians and Enhanced Repair Timeframes. It is one more way a Master Agency like us can offer an added advantage for our customers.

NWMAP assures you get no more and no less of the Telecom products and services you need to make your business thrive, be competitive now when it means the most in this economy. It’s not often someone can promise you excellence in a struggling economy when many vendors are wondering how to sell you what you don’t need, worrying more about their bottom line than yours.

NWMAP has earned wonderful marks from it’s clients and growing strong, valuable partnerships with our vendors of choice is all part of how we do business.

Multiple Telecom Carriers/Vendors Or a Single Carrier?

Good question. The goal is to get the best technology specific to your business’ needs at the lowest cost available. Realistically, this could take a business owner, a CIO or an IT Manager a really long time to research the many Telecom carriers, compare prices, and collaborate with all parties involved.

The solution often times is a middle man, such as a Telecom Broker/Agent and/or at least three vendors to get the necessary technology you require at an affordable price. Working with a Telecom Agent will solve your dilemma of shopping around, comparing prices, and even installing. They have access to numerous reputable carriers they’ve formed alliances with, which means they’ve done the research for you and can assist you with pairing the solution you need to the appropriate vendors’ technologies.

If you go to each individual vendor, you may not get the choices you want, the technology specific to your needs, or flexibility and affordability. The integration of multiple technologies as well as newer ones with existing ones is best handled by utilizing multiple vendors. It’s not as tricky as it sounds, and if you have a Telecom Agent working with you on this, you can also get one consolidated bill, which is often less than your existing ones.

Another reason multiple vendors is useful is when you begin with a few solutions and want to add more later. The rate of growth and necessity for new technology is different from one business to another, which is why having multiple vendors and/or a Telecom Agent who has access to multiple vendors is a one-size-fits-all plan.
