2017 Super 9 training event with Intelysis!

Super9 Grads!

Each year Intelysis puts on a superior sales training called Super 9 for a selected group in the industry.  This year’s conference was held in sunny Tampa, Florida!  Training was set up with three teams of 9 geographically diverse members to create a non-competitive atmosphere amongst peers.  This included  three days of working with mock companies.  We had the opportunity to spend time with SADA, PGI, Rapid Scale, EvolveIP,  and a few other as well.   New processes such selecting carriers of choice when giving the customers options from the beginning of the opportunity was discussed.  Also we looked at  something as simple as using a white board to engage and get the clients participation in creating affective solutions to help close the sale.  They also suggested involving the carriers to work as a team for the whole process, in turn creating a fine tuned and efficient way of closing the sale.

At NW Map, we have used similar methods when meeting with potential clients, usually introducing them to 3 different carrier options that would best fit their company’s needs.  By doing it this way, it has won the deal many times.  However, the options out there in the industry are always changing so using a team approach with the carrier and the customer can really help create holistic solutions which could result in the win of the sale!  What direct representatives can do this?  They don’t!!

All in all, it was a fantastic time for all involved at this year’s conference.  As always, Intelysis really went above and beyond to make it a successful and informational experience!  We are already looking forward to next year!

World Password Day! How strong are your online security habits?

These days you can never be too careful with your online security.  Did you know that the first Thursday in May of each year is officially declared “World Password Day?”  That’s right!!  There is a day for everything including promoting good security hygiene and password habits!  Tech Republic has some great tips to help keep it simple:

Create Strong Passwords:

Strong passwords will have at least eight characters, with a mix of upper and lowercase letters.  You should also include numbers and symbols.  Avoid using personal information like birthdays and middle names.

Use Different passwords for every account:

Using a different password for all of your various online accounts is important because cross sharing them can compromise all of your accounts should you get hacked.  This is vital especially for your online banking and financial accounts.

Use a password manager

Too hard keeping track of multiple passwords?  Password managers such as LastPass or 1Password can help you store multiple passwords in an encrypted manner, for easy access.

Turn on multi-factor authentication

Multi-factor authentication can add additional security on top of your standard password.  For example, if you are using an app that requires a security question, a code or a fingerprint scan this can help create an extra layer of security on your account.

Following these simple steps along with making a habit of changing your passwords a few times a year, will help protect you from the headache of undoing the chaos left in the wake of  hackers.

Happy World Password Day!

Disaster Recovery: Weathering a Storm

After one week of snow, ice, and power outages the folks in the Northwest region are eager to wave it goodbye. But this morning we saw a couple more inches…again. This time the forecasters, and residents, were left with their mouth agape in another ‘Good Greif…not again!’ moment.  The news stations are referring to it as the Northwest’s “Snowpocolypse”.

We falter easily because we don’t get inclement weather often here. Many parts of our country are aware of these types of threats though and prepare.

Telecom Agents are fully aware of these potential business/power outages, and naturally unforeseen circumstances. We want businesses to be prepared.

Disaster Recovery. It means preparing your business for a disaster. A term not taken lightly in the Telecom industry.

A disaster such as a storm can put an unprepared company out of business.

“Disaster recovery plans describe the process, policies and procedures for responding to a disaster. Computer-telecommunications disaster recovery plans include activities necessary to recover or continue your Information Technology infrastructure in the event of a natural or manmade crisis. By establishing general procedures, hardware and software safeguards, you can ensure your company can resume system operations–potentially using alternative locations–as quickly as possible. By stipulating protocols for such as offsite storage or backup schedules, you can prevent data losses and other costly problems.” (Duggan, Tara. How to Make a Computer-Telecommunications Disaster Recovery Plan for an Organization)

Telecom agents encourage businesses to consider disaster recovery services because you never know when the unthinkable will threaten your livelihood- natural disasters, system failures, and hackers. Telecom agents advise their clients because the threat is there, but nobody knows when and where.

Please check out our Disaster Recovery services if you do not have a service in place or have questions, comments, or concerns about your current service.

Holiday Boost in Commission

Attention: Agents with NW MAP

In October of 2016, the Integra base was moved to Intelisys. This provided a higher commission rate,

putting more money in your pocket. The move will delay Integra commissions by 30 days, but the extra month is moved to the back end.
