Could The Telecom Business Be Right For You?

I often get asked what I do. Telecom is the sum of all communications; it’s all things data, voice and so much more. More specifically I have a very rewarding career. Here’s why:
•Earn my own raise each month
•Create my own hours
•The clients are my boss
•Not torn between what customers want and what a boss requires of me
•Utilize my unique skill set
•Upfront cash incentives as well as residual/reoccurring income

I consider it a great living. Is it right for?

If what I’ve mentioned above peaks your interest and motivates you to learn more, then it may be perfect for YOU. Many people are accustomed to working for one boss who oversees their duties and controls their promotions. Not here, not as a NWMAP Telecom Agent. You work for your clients. Still interested?

Here’s a list of things we pick up along the way and build on…
•Keep up-to-date on technology trends
•Review current clients’ bills (we want to find them better or more for less cost to them)
•Identify and build relationships with prospective customers through telephone and in-person calls, networking and referrals in order to obtain appointments.
•Find solutions for clients.
•Sell Telecom services and products
•Write and submit orders, maintaining and managing client list.

NWMAP gives you the tools you need to succeed!
How do you get paid?
Commissions in the form of residual/reoccurring income. As long as the client attains a service with you, you will continue to get paid. NWMAP works with over 40 reputable carriers which also use promotions and upfront incentives to get the ball rolling…fast. These pay out money upfront per quarter, per sale, per amount, etc.

Sales Tools: That’s a Good Question!

Whether you’re approaching a possible client or sealing a deal, there are questions every client should be asking you for their Telecom (phone, data, Internet, and product service) needs. If they’re not, as a Telecom Agent you should be answering these key inquires for them. Some clients can pinpoint their needs, others are unhappy with current services but may not be able to focus on one particular thing.

Do you want better service? This can be tricky because clients may not know what better service entails or if they’ve never had better, they have nothing to compare it to. They may be hesitant due to budget concerns. Better often means pricier, but in Telecom we know that’s not always the case. You can be the first to let a client know that.

Do you feel stuck? Does the business client feel as though they’re stuck with outdated technology? Are they stuck in a current contract? Do they feel as though they’re paying too much but don’t know what to do about it? These are excellent questions and a wonderful selling tool.

Do you have what you need/ and want? Some clients are paying for services they don’t utilize. What a shame! Some clients want more but fear the price increase. A Telecom Agent can sit down with a client and not only review the current bills, but also determine what services the client will benefit from and get the most ROI.

Are you in consistent contact with your current provider to make sure your changing business needs are being met, now and in the future? NWMAP believes a contract and a client is an ongoing relationship.

Keep in mind NWMAP Telecom Agents can review a business’ bill. NO CHARGE!!

NWMAP Loking Forward From The Vegas Telecom Conference

Every year Lennie Green heads over to the annual Telecom Conference/Expo in Las Vegas. And every year, the President of NWMAP gets inspired. He’s looking at new products and services for both his clients and NWMAP Telecom Agents.
This year’s Expo boasted a myriad of new info events, networking, and a few good times. Jive and 8×8 hosted some great events. Fun was to be had at an Intelysis event where Jeff Waddell’s band was playing at the Hard Rock Café on the strip. Netwroking buddy, Jeff Gray joined Lennie for that.

Down to business: On the business front, Lennie took home some ideas for the future of NWMAP. Possibilities include Hosted Software by the seat. “NWMAP already sells/provides several Hosted services and this one looks promising for our future.” Also, offering Agents a new avenue of sales offerings to clients; a cell plan. Agents would receive residual earnings selling this to clients and rebilling of existing clients such as Verizon and At&T.

Overall, it was a successful, and busy, Vegas Telecom Expo getaway.

Telecom Agent- Client Diologues

As an Agent, it’s important to stay in touch with your clients. We’re in the business of communication and not just the Telecom type, but person-to-person, Agent-to-client. Clients’ needs change with the ever evolving technology climate. Of course the dialogue of the decade is quite possibly the Cloud. We’ve mentioned the Cloud brings with it a massive amount of questions. Security is one discussion between the Agent and clients. A right fit is another likely dialogue. The Cloud is a great option for small to medium businesses saving money and less hassle not having to man hardware and equipment or mobile apps/options for larger businesses with remote or out of office employees. The Cloud is one of those obvious dialogues. Do clients know what solutions are available in the Cloud specifically for them, for their industry or business? Do they know the cost benefits, secure networks and security options?

Managing and Monitoring? Do your clients have their circuits managed/monitored? Are the backup circuits managed…in case something happens to the primary. They want to know their circuits are working during non-business hours too. This kind of monitoring catches a problem before someone actually reports it.

Marketing tools- Master Agencies like NWMAP offer several solutions and one of those is small business marketing tools. A way to stay on touch on a variety of platforms through one portal. Businesses can easily get news out about their business, coupons, announcements, updates and basically stay in touch with their clients. This is one of those easy solutions and the dialogue should be based on that. An easy solution for small to medium businesses (Local TV stations, restaurants, etc). A variety of specific services and functionalities under one umbrella.

Telecom Agents and The Cloud

Cloud technology was one of the most talked about trends in 2013. Even so, there are businesses questioning whether this technology is the right fit for them. As an agent, this is an opportunity to open up a dialogue, talk to clients about their existing business systems, phone lines, Internet, marketing campaigns, and their strategies for the upcoming year. Introduce new ideas they may not be taking advantage of such as video conferencing. When businesses begin thinking about the Cloud it typically means they are looking to advance their business to the next level and/or they’re trying to save money. All of which a Telecom Agent can assist with.

Agents need to know how a business can advance or update current systems. Sometimes the Cloud fits and other times perhaps not.

The Cloud and the agent:

  • Reach out to carriers for Cloud info, attend workshops, get knowledgeable so you have the answers for your clients.
  • Stay up-to-date on ALL services and products.
  • Cloud capabilities are ever-changing so identify new strategies that fit specific clients and businesses. Some new areas in which Cloud is being integrated into is healthcare and non-profits, for example.
  • There are a lot of benefits with the Cloud, such as flexibility, cost savings, and choices. While businesses may know this already, translating those benefits into something tangible for IT/Managers and business owners to grasp is key. Obviously cost savings and more services available are the top two on the list.
  • Stay in contact with existing clients. Find out what’s holding those customers back from updating.
  • Talk about security services offered for the Cloud. Many NWMAP carriers, such as Integra Telecom, offer these.

Let’s make a commitment to elevate businesses in the New Year!

Happy New Year from your NWMAP Team!
